Frequently Asked Questions

What is πŸΊπŸ€” Politics in the Pub

πŸΊπŸ€” Politics in the Pub is a non-partisan political discussion group fostering intellectual discourse among anyone and everyone interested in Politics. Convening in London’s pubs, our fellowship engages in high-quality, good-faith discussions on provocative topics including politics, psychology, economics, sexuality, and philosophy. Unbound by conformity, we champion freedom of thought, expression, and assembly. With mutual respect as our cornerstone, we are a haven for civil dissent, blending rigorous debate with camaraderie, appealing to professionals seeking unorthodox dialogue in a social setting. So grab a drink πŸ·πŸΉπŸ«–πŸΊπŸ» and join us.

How often do you meet?

Usually twice monthly, on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month.

Where do you meet?

We usually meet in north central and south central London. Our north central London meetings are usually around Euston/Kings Cross and our south central London meetings are around Victoria, London Bridge or Waterloo. This we hope makes it easy for people to find a regular meeting they can attend without difficulty. Check each individual event for its venue, we don't announce announce a change of venue separately to the normal announcement of our events.

We usually try to find a pub that's quiet enough to talk rather than the very nearest pub to a tube station, so you might have a 5-8 minute walk from a tube station to our venue.

Are you a debating group?

No, we're a political discussion group not a debating group. The distinction is important.
People who do nothing but endlessly try to "own the libs/fash" rather than attempt to discuss and persuade, are often childish simpletons who are boring beyond belief.
